The last book I read was a study guide / commentary on Acts of the Apostles. I thought I should read Romans next but I found this book on the Holy Spirit’s role in salvation while at the CTS bookshop in London.
Perfect timing, as LISS (Life in the Spirit Seminar) begins this week, and seamless continuation after reading Acts. I’ll read a bit of this book everyday and update key points here.
Holy Spirit, be with us to guide us on our journey to know, love and serve God the Father.
Chapter 1: Inexpressible yet intimate
- Holy Spirit, living water:
Jesus stood up and exclaimed, “Let anyone who thirsts come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as scripture says: ‘Rivers of living water will flow from within him.'” He said this in reference to the Spirit that those who came to believe in him were to receive. There was, of course, no Spirit yet, because Jesus had not yet been glorified.
– John 7:37-39
